Cultural Tour of Bhutan

8 Days

Bhutan is known as ‘Druk Yul’ in native language and one of the world’s most exotic tourist destinations. This small mountainous country is rich in culture and traditions. It is a magical little Buddhist kingdom of enchanting people lying high up in the Himalayas between India and China. Our cultural tour of Bhutan includes the major attractions of Bhutan.

Visit of Bhutan is still like going back in time and entering into another universe. Remote lands immerse you in Bhutanese culture by providing the visitor access to private events and extraordinary people. Bhutan is also one of the smallest countries in the world that has a great cultural diversity. Bhutan remained untouched by the outside world until few years back.

The national religion of Bhutan is Mahayana Buddhism which is the basis of the the Drukpa way of life. Some basic knowledge of Buddhism is essential to experience the everyday life in Bhutan. Prayer flags dot the landscape everywhere. The scene of the prayer wheels running from the mountain streams on the roadside are truly amazing.

Images of Buddha and other religious figures are carved and painted on to cliffs. It reminds the visitor that every aspect of daily life in Bhutan has impressions from Buddhist beliefs and aspirations. Likewise, Punakha Dzong is the major attraction of this tour and probably the most beautiful site in Bhutan. Finally, the cultural tour of Bhutan ends in Paro waiting for a scenic flight to Kathmandu next morning.
