Undoubtedly, Mount Everest is the highest mountain in the world. Many people have a dream to see this marvelous peak at a distance while some others excitingly wish to touch it with their feet. Yes, it is possible to reach there on feet and it takes only 12 days to trek to the Everest Base Camp and return to Kathmandu. Many people got inspirations to build their adventurous profile when Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa made their victory over the summit on 29th of May in 1953. People around the world started to follow the steps of Hillary and Sherpa since then. However, not everybody were as lucky as Hillary and Sherpa, mostly they could only been able to manage their trips to the famous Mount Everest Base Camp.

The famous Everest Base Camp trek starts at Lukla and can be reached in about half an hour from Kathmandu. It is also the same airport which refers to as one the most challenging airports in the world. It is now named as Tenzing-Hillary airport to pay a tribute to their first steps on the top of the Mount Everest. Similarly, the next attraction is the popular Sherpa hometown Namche Bazaar. Many trekkers spend a full day in Namche Bazaar for acclimatization and add some excursion trips to the surrounding Sherpa villages. The trail passes through the famous Tengboche Monastery, Dingboche, Lobuche and finally Gorakshep (5,140m) which serves as the highest point for your overnight halt.

So, we have designed Everest Base Camp trek for 12 days in order to fulfill your dream and making this possible. The custom itinerary still includes enough days to acclimatize well in the mountains. Brief Itinerary for Everest Base Camp Trek – 12 Days:

[Day 01] : Fly Kathmandu to Lukla (2,840m/9,318ft), then trek to Phakding (2,610m/8,563ft),

[Day 02] : Trek Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,446m/11,306ft),

[Day 03] : Rest and acclimatisation day at Namche Bazaar,

[Day 04] : Trek Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,867m/12,687ft),

[Day 05] : Trek Tengboche to Dingboche (4,410m/14,469ft),

[Day 06] : Rest and acclimatisation day at Dingboche,

[Day 07] : Trek Dingboche to Lobuche (4,910m/16,109ft),

[Day 08] : Trek further to Everest Base Camp (5,364m/17,598ft), return trek to Gorakshep (5,140m/16,864ft),

[Day 09] : Trek/Climb Gorakshep to Kalapatthar (5,545m/18,192ft) and return trek to Pheriche (4,252m/13,950ft),

[Day 10] : Trek Pheriche back to Namche Bazaar,

[Day 11] : Trek Namche Bazaar back to Lukla,

[Day 12] : Fly Lukla to Kathmandu.

There are more side trips available on the above itinerary such as Gokyo Lake, Chola Pass and/or Renjo La Pass, climbing of Island Peak, etc. Additionally, there are options available to extend this trip by adding Kathmandu City Tour, Pokhara Tour, Chitwan Jungle Safari or any trip of your choice.
