When is the best time to visit Nepal?

This is the most common question that every traveler is seeking answer for. In fact, the slogan ‘Nepal for all Seasons’ has answered the above question very well. This actually depends on your purpose of visit. If you are looking for an expedition, spring is considered as the best time of course. This must be because the first successful Everest summit was made on 29th of May, 1953 by Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Sir Edmund Hillary. There are some other technical reasons too. Is it possible to trek in summer?

Pokhara is a chilled out place with the beautiful Fewa Lake. There are day hikes available in Pokhara too.

If you are looking for a longer trek, Upper Mustang and Dolpa are the best options. These areas are regarded as rain shadow area and it is always nice to travel there in August-September. There are many interesting spots to visit in Nepal during summer.

Road transportation within the country can be affected by the landslides and flights can be cancelled because of poor visibility during summer. Private Cars and Tourist buses are the reliable means of transports. If you are a Hindu pilgrim, Shrawan (July 16 to August 15) is the best time to visit the holy Pashupatinath temple. Shrawan is considered as the Lord Shiva’s month and specially the Monday’s.
