The Itinerary

Leadership
The Mt Everest Climbing 2011 Summit Bid Expedition will be led by qualified and experienced leaders who have considerable 8,000m experience. They will be supported by a strong team of Sherpas who have summitted many times before.

Altitude
The itinerary allows sufficient time to acclimatise. The best ways to avoid AMS is to do everything slowly, walk at a steady pace and drink plenty of fluids. Our leaders have experience of dealing with the symptoms of acute mountain sickness and other altitude related illness. The Travel at High Altitude booklet which is written to help you understand some of the ways your body may change as it has to cope with high altitude and the ‘thin air’. It is full of information, tips and stories to help you enjoy your trip and stay healthy. Most importantly it also covers the serious altitude illnesses. Click here to download booklet.
