Krishna Janmashtami celebrated

Krishna Janmashtami marks the celebration of the birth of Lord Shri Krishna and it is regarded as great Hindu festival. Lord Shri Krishna is believed to have the 8th 'avatar' or incarnation of Lord Vishnu. There are many stories of his livelihood and explain how he killed all the demonic adversaries one after another- Pootana, Shakata, Agha, Dhenuka, Bakaa, Keshi, Kansa, Shishupala, Jarasandha etc. The story of Lord Krishna's birth is also full of excitement and thrills.
There is a great celebration of Krishna Janmashtami at the Krishna Temple of Patan Durbar Square where numerous devotees gather and enjoy through the glorious night of his birth. People sing ancient hymns while others clap their hands. Hence there is a great place of Lord Krishna in Hindu religion.
