Mystic Tour To Bhutan

Mystic Tour To Bhutan

Bhutan is regarded as the 'Land of the Thunder Dragon'. The Paro (2,280m/7,480ft) and Thimpu (2,320m/7,611ft) concentrated mystic tour is ideally good for short time holidays in Bhutan. This short tour gives a good impression of Bhutanese culture and traditions along with the great views of Himalayan Panorama. We spend two full days in picturesque Paro, visiting Paro Dzong and the National Museum. The next day hike up to the dramatic Tiger’s Nest (3,180m/10,433ft) at Taktsang Lhakang, major highlight of this trip. The weekend market in Thimpu is good for handicrafts. Buddhism is the main religion in Bhutan and every aspect of daily life is shaped by Buddhist beliefs and aspirations. Bhutan is one of the smallest countries in the world but has a great cultural diversity.

Season for Bhutan Travel:
The best times to visit Bhutan are during spring (March, April, May) and autumn (September, October, November). The major religious festivals in Bhutan are held during these months and the weather in spring and autumn makes an ideal season for trekking and touring throughout the country enjoying the spectacular views of Himalayan mountains peaks and experiencing the cultural delights. However, travelling in Bhutan is possible throughout the year.

Group size:
A minimum of TWO persons is required to obtain a trekking permit in Bhutan. Tours can be organized for 1-3 persons and are considered FITs and a special discount is available if you are travelling in a group of 4 or above.

The flight into the Himalaya reveals breathtaking views of the great peaks MT EVEREST, MT KANCHANJUNGA, MT CHOMOLHARI, MT JICHU DRAKE, etc., taking you right into the Dragon Kingdom's scraping airstrip at PARO. On arrival you will be greeted and transferred through the beautiful PARO valley to Hotel - dinner & overnight at hotel.

The day begins with a visit to the ruins of DRUKGYAL DZONG (18km). This Dzong is of historical importance, from whose ramparts the Bhutanese repelled Tibetan invaders. On a clear day, the 24,000 ft. white-domed peak of sacred CHOMOLHARI (Mountain of Goddess) looms overhead. After lunch at the hotel, visit TA DZONG, the National Museum housed in an ancient watchtower, which has a fine collection of ancient Thangkha paintings, textiles, weapons and artifacts. Stay overnight at hotel.

Morning scenic drive to THIMPU (2 hrs). Transfer to hotel. Afternoon, sightseeing to the MEMMORIAL CHORTEN of the late King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck in the heart of Thimpu town, TASHICHHO DZONG (the Fortress of the Auspicious Religion, presently Govt. secretariat building). Stay overnight at hotel.

AM: After breakfast drive to SARTSHAM CHORTEN and then two hours of horse riding uphill will take you to the TAKTSANG MONASTERY. After refreshment, a short trek to the view point to witness a fascinating eye-level view of the famous TAKTSANG LHAKHANG also known as the tigers' nest.
PM: After lunch a slow downhill trek to SARTSHAM CHORTEN and then drive to Hotel. Stay overnight at hotel.

After early breakfast, drive to airport for departure flight to Kathmandu.
