Trekking or hiking is a significant attraction in Nepal and has been offered since the 1960's. The two most popular treks in Nepal are trekking to Everest Base Camp and trekking either around Annapurna or the Annapurna Circuit, which goes right around the Annapurna Himalayan range. There are numerous other treks available in the Everest, Annapurna and Langtang regions. We offer treks to Gokyo valley, the Lake and the top Gokyo Ri where one can enjoy spectacular views of Mt. Everest, Cho Oyu and other Himalayan mountains. Other popular regions include the Langtang, Helambu, Makalu, Manaslu, Kanchenjunga, Dolpo and Rara. In western Nepal we specialise in classic and adventure treks. We can organise trekking over high passes for those who relish mountain challenges. You can also enjoy the cultural richness of Nepal en route by meeting some of the ethnic groups like Sherpa, Gurung, Rai, Thakali, and by viewing ancient monasteries, temples and sacred lakes on the different trekking trails. You could join our peak climbing trips to Island Peak, Mera Peak or Lobuche Peak. Alternatively, there are some expedition trips available to Baruntse, Amadablam and Cho Oyu.

Trekking In Nepal

The Ganja La Pass is one of the challenging high passes in Nepal because of its wilderness and unfavourable weather conditions. The Ganja La Pass trek follows the Langtang River through the popular Tamang settlement to the east until we reach Kyanjing valley.

Machhapuchhre Model Trek route is an innovation of TAAN in order to fulfill the necessity of alternative trekking route to the popular Annapurna Circuit trail that has experienced some risks due to the motor-able road being constructed from Besi-Sahar to Chame.

The Gokyo-Renjo La Pass trail is considered as an alternative trekking route to the traditional Everest Base Camp trek. Renjo la pass gives an alternative way to the Gokyo trek making a circuit. This is a less crowded popular adventure trekking available in the Everest region.

The Royal trek got its name when Prince Charles and his 90 person’s entourage had explored this route in the early eighties. This is one of the short and easy treks available near Pokhara that goes through the foothills of Annapurnas and ends at Begnas Lake.

Jomsom-Muktinath trek is a classic route that goes along the world's deepest gorge of the Kali Gandaki River in the Annapurna region of Nepal. This trek can be done by anybody with a moderate level of fitness reaching the maximum altitude of 3,760 meters at Muktinath.

Climbing & Expeditions

Island Peak is one of the most popular trekking peaks in Nepal, situated at the top of the Imja valley in the Khumbu region and surrounded by the Imja, Lhotse and Lhotse Shar glaciers. When the peak is viewed from above Dingboche, the mountain resembles to an island in a sea of ice.

Yala Peak is located in the Langtang Himalayan range of Nepal, protected as Langtang National Park. This peak is also considered as Nepal’s one of easier trekking peaks and often climbed along with its neighbouring Peak Naya Kanga or Ganja-la Chuli.

Mera Peak is the highest NMA listed trekking peak in Nepal, situated on the edge of famous Khumbu region and boasts an absolutely stunning summit panorama that includes five of the world's 8000m peaks - Mt. Kanchenjunga, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Cho Oyu and Mt. Everest.

Tharpu Chuli is also known as Tent Peak whose name is obvious when viewed from Annapurna Base Camp. This Peak was first climbed in 1956 by a Japanese expedition team. Tent Peak is a popular trekking peak and the views from the summit are truly magnificent.

Mount Baruntse is an impressive and popular 7000 meter expedition peak among the climbers and it is situated in front of Mount Makalu in the Eastern Nepal, at the center of the three glacier valleys- Imja, Hunku and Barun and above the East and West Cols.
