Trekking Encounters Nepal offers adventure specialists and nature guides who have a vast knowledge of Himalayan trekking and expeditions in both Nepal and Tibet. Trekking or hiking is a significant attraction in Nepal and has been offered since the 1960's. The two most popular treks in Nepal are trekking to Everest Base Camp and trekking either around Annapurna or the Annapurna Circuit, which goes right around the Annapurna Himalayan range. There are numerous other treks available in the Everest, Annapurna and Langtang regions. We offer treks to Gokyo valley, the Lake and the top Gokyo Ri where one can enjoy spectacular views of Mt. Everest, Cho Oyu and other Himalayan mountains. Other popular regions include the Langtang, Helambu, Makalu, Manaslu, Kanchenjunga, Dolpo and Rara. In western Nepal we specialise in classic and adventure treks. We can organise trekking over high passes for those who relish mountain challenges. You can also enjoy the cultural richness of Nepal en route by meeting some of the ethnic groups like Sherpa, Gurung, Rai, Thakali, and by viewing ancient monasteries, temples and sacred lakes on the different trekking trails. You could join our peak climbing trips to Island Peak, Mera Peak or Lobuche Peak. Alternatively, there are some expedition trips available to Baruntse, Amadablam and Cho Oyu.

Trekking In Nepal

Kanchenjunga region is situated in Eastern Nepal bordering with the Indian State of Sikkim and Tibet of China. Kanchenjunga region although a restricted area, is perhaps one of the most remote trekking regions to the Base Camp of the world's third highest peak.

The newly opened spectacular and unique Himalayan trail in the popular Annapurna region that starts at Besi-Sahar and passes through the Nar and Phu valleys is rich with ethnically-Tibetan origin inhabitants and a demanding adventure trek including the Thorung La.

Larkya Pass to Manang and Tilicho Lake to Jomsom is one of Nepal's challenging off-the beaten-path treks that offers some outstanding Himalayan scenery over the high passes of Larkya La and Mesokanto La. This trek connects the Manaslu and Annapurna regions of Nepal.

Dolpo or Dolpa district is situated in the Trans-Himalayan region of north-west Nepal. Dolpo remains as an isolated and one of the remotest areas of Nepal and is generally dry, cold and sparsely vegetated. A trek through Dolpo will be an experience of lifetime.

Tamang Heritage Trail is a newly developed trekking route where trekkers can explore and enjoy with the natural beauty and cultural highlights of the Tamang people located towards north of Kathmandu in the Langtang National Park starting at Syabru or Syaphru Besi.

Climbing & Expeditions

We have designed Island Peak or Imja-Tse climbing including a trek to the Everest Base Camp in order to provide some strength and acclimatization before the expedition. Mount Everest Base Camp is the most sought after trekking destination in the world.

Chulu East is regarded as technically straightforward and challenging peak. It lies in the Annapurna region of Nepal. The summit of Chulu East provides the most breathtaking views of Annapurnas, Gangapurna, Dhaulagiri, Tilicho Peak and Manaslu.

Island Peak is one of the most popular trekking peaks in Nepal, situated at the top of the Imja valley in the Khumbu region and surrounded by the Imja, Lhotse and Lhotse Shar glaciers. When the peak is viewed from above Dingboche, the mountain resembles to an island in a sea of ice.

Yala Peak is located in the Langtang Himalayan range of Nepal. The peak is listed as Group 'A' NMA Peak. This peak is considered as Nepal’s one of easier trekking peaks and often climbed along with its neighbouring Peak Naya Kanga or Ganja-la Chuli.

The Amphu Lapcha Pass in the Everest region is regarded as one of the most challenging and technical high passes in Nepal. This trek starts at Lukla and passes through the remote and wilderness trail, dramatic Amphu Lapcha Pass and ends back in Lukla.
